How’s it going everyone? We recently installed hickory hardwood flooring throughout our entire main floor of our house. When entering into other rooms with flooring, sometimes you end up having to change directions. They sell these strips at the big box stores but past experience has not yielded good results when trying to use them. So, I made my own from some scrap oak I had in the shop. I butted the two pieces of flooring together and measured the gap and thickness needed for the tongues. I did a couple of passes and snuck up on the fit. In the end, I had a perfect fitting tongue that locked the two pieces together. I hope this helps those of you who are doing some flooring.
